CREATE Projects
CREATE is associated with solving real-world engineering
problems. You can download a list of suggested projects students
can work on during Summer Design Experience 2009.

2009 Suggested Project List
The Old
Examples of past projects students have worked on:
Endoscopic
Surgery Training Tool
Designed a device for Dr. Delaney (Professor and Chief of the Division
of Colorectal Surgery at U.H.) that will enable him to point out areas
on an LCD screen to his trainee without the use of his already-full
hands.
Realistic
Adaptations to Anesthesiologist’s Training Mannequin
Developed a pressurized and flowing “blood” system inside a
training mannequin for Dr. Cechner. Students needed a flowing system to
run simulations for cardiac output measurements and pressure profile
detection.
United Cerebral
Palsy – Development of a Novel Page Turning/Dispensing Device
Developed a device that will turn a page or dispense the next sheet of
paper upon a controllable cue. The device will help many UCP clients
that have difficulty using their hands and arms to control a stack of
papers or a book.
United Cerebral
Palsy – Motivational Adaptations to Children’s Bike/Toy
Adapted an existing bike/toy so that when used, rewards the child/user
with music and/or vibration.
