Counseling Services

A disaster on the scale of hurricane Katrina can trigger a number of emotional responses. Whether you have friends or family in the Gulf Coast region or have other concerns, counselors are available to help guide you through this experience. Please review the information below to learn more about services available to members of the Case community.

Services for Students

The University Counseling Services provides individual and group counseling and referrals for all full-time undergraduate, graduate and professional school students and their spouses at no charge. There are two locations—Collegiate Behavioral Health at 2145 Adelbert Road, Second Floor (368-2510) or the Counseling Services in Room 201 Sears (368-5872). Confidentiality is absolutely adhered to.

Emergencies and after hours services are provided for students in crisis who do not have an upcoming appointment or feel the need to speak with a counselor as soon as possible. Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 – 4:30 at the Sears location. For emergencies that arise after regular office hours, call 844-8892 and ask to speak with the University Counselor on call. This counselor can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Services for Faculty & Staff

We recognize that from time to time each of us experience difficulties that we are unable to handle on our own. Employee Assistance Service (EASE) is a voluntary private and confidential program provided through Center for Families and Children (CFC). This service provides counseling and community resources for benefits-eligible employees and family members to help identify problems and develop plans for resolution.

EASE utilizes the services of over 40 licensed, credentialed counseling professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and other trained counselors in over 30 Northeast Ohio locations. In addition EASE has a national counseling network with several hundred providers. Concerns may include personal issues, depression, anxiety, marital matters, divorce adjustment and options, chemical dependency and abuse, parenting issues, work-related stress, and legal and financial questions.

To use the EASE Program, simply call: 216-241-3273 or 800-521-EASE (3273). Your call will be immediately directed to counseling professionals. Staff are available and calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
