Expectations of
Council members:
» Attendance to a
weekly or bi-weekly meeting is mandatory. We understand, though, that everyone
has other commitments and responsibilities, and attendance 100% of the time
isn't strictly necessary. (time and location to be determined; we will attempt to work around as many schedules as possible)
» Dedicated effort and
time outside of meetings is necessary in order to pursue and reach your goals.
Tasks will not do themselves.
» Members must be
self-motivated and ready to take initiative on efforts. Talking is easy. Acting
takes more.
» Members must be
open-minded. They must be willing and able to view situations from multiple
perspectives, think creatively, and build ideas collaboratively.
» Though it is not
necessary, it certainly helps to be out-going and confident — meeting new people,
working with authorities, and going behind the scenes to observe, learn, work,
discuss, and achieve.
