Sustainability SpotlightBon Appétit Management Company
Bon Appétit has an ongoing program called the Eat Local Challenge, which dares our campus food service team to create meals completely of ingredients from within a 150 mile radius of Case. Currently, more than 30% of each meal in the dining halls or purchased in a Bon Appetit eatery on campus is procured from local products. Bon Appetit serves 400 other universities and colleges, in addition to corporate campuses. At each of their sites, Bon Appetit is practicing the Eat Local Challenge, making a huge impact on environment and community nation wide. There are many ways to promote a more sustainable future. Bon Appetit features many environmentally-friendly products at their café. Bags are biodegradable and packages are made from recycled products and they continue to search for more ways to reduce our campus’ environmental footprint on a daily basis. You can often see the changes at your favorite café. They are making meals from scratch at BRB Café, Tomlinson Marketplace, the Fribley Marché, and Leutner Resident Dining Café, reducing food wastes dramatically. They also provide fair trade coffees at various venues. Bon Appétit is part of the ongoing changes at Case. Keep your eye on this campus leader! |
