Adopt a Building Information

Post_It

The Adopt a Building program wants YOU!  We are looking for members of the Case community who are interested in energy conservation, recycling, and environmental stewardship to act as Energy Ambassadors on campus! The Adopt a Building program is recruiting representatives for each residence hall and every academic and administrative building.  We are a vibrant campus and the Adopt a Building program helps people, schools, and departments get involved with achieving university wide goals for energy conservation and sustainability.

Energy Ambassadors promote energy conservation, recycling, and environmental stewardship at Case.  As an Energy Ambassador, you’ll be joining a network of people at Case who are working together to make our campus a brighter, cleaner place—one building at a time. Our team includes building occupants, building managers, the custodial staff, students, Facilities Services, and the Energy Advisory Committee. We’re working together to make our campus more inviting and more sustainable.

Each building has unique needs and operates in unique ways, just like the people who occupy it.  As resident experts, Energy Ambassadors partner with their building manager, designated student Energy Ambassadors, and the building’s custodial staff to identify and promote ways of conserving energy and reducing waste in ways that best suit your building.

Get involved and play a vital role in achieving our goal of 15% reduction in energy consumption!

ENERGY CONSERVATION
  • Meet with your building contact person, custodian, and other Energy Ambassadors to identify how occupants could reduce energy consumption.
  • Share information with your colleagues, co-workers, and suite mates regarding current building energy consumption and set goals for reduction.
  • Solicit feedback and ideas from building occupants regarding energy consumption issues in your building.
  • Raise awareness about the impact of daily energy choices.
  • Work with your building contact person to post signs and posters.
  • Do a building tour / walk-through with your colleagues to identify building and behavioral changes that would promote energy conservation.

RECYCLING

  • Meet with your building contact person, custodian, and other Energy Ambassadors to identify how occupants could encourage building occupants to recycle.
  • Share information with your colleagues, co-workers, and suite mates about what and where to recycle in your building.
  • Solicit suggestions about how to improve recycling at Case.
  • Provide feedback regarding number, size, and location of recycling bins, clear labeling of bins, signage needed, etc.
  • Provide us feedback on how to make recycling in your building more convenient.
  • Partner with your building contact person, other Energy Ambassadors, and custodial staff to insure materials are being picked up in a timely manner.
