FASB member G. Michael Crooch receives Braden Award from Weatherhead School of Management

G. Michael Crooch, a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), will be honored with the 2005 Braden Award from the Weatherhead School of Management. Crooch received the award during a ceremony Friday, November 4, at the Peter B. Lewis building on the Case campus. He will speak on current topics of interest in financial accounting.
Crooch was appointed to a five-year term on the FASB in July of 2000, and reappointed for a three-year term in July 2005 Before joining the board he was a partner in the accounting firm Arthur Andersen, where he held the position of director of International Accounting Principles in the firm's Professional Standards Group. He has also served as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant's representative to the International Accounting Standards Committee and been a board member of the international standards committee.
The Braden Award is named in honor of Professor Andrew Dale Braden, who served as an accountancy faculty member at Case from l945 to l985. It recognizes outstanding members and leaders of the professional accounting practice community and is bestowed to recognize distinctive contributions by members of the professional practice community to the knowledge and advancement of the discipline of accountancy. The 2005 Braden Award will be the 23rd given by the Weatherhead School of Management.
