Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management
has jumped 35 places and is now ranked among the
top 50 colleges and universities in the world, according to the Financial
Times.
The school’s full-time MBA program is 49th in the world this
year, up from 84th in 2004, and now ranks 30th—up from 43rd last
year—in
the United States.
“We are very pleased with our performance in the Financial
Times rankings,” said
Myron Roomkin, dean of the Weatherhead School of Management. “These rankings
confirm that the Weatherhead School of Management is one of the great schools
of management in the world.”
Globally, Weatherhead’s organizational
behavior program remains first in the world and its entrepreneurial program
holds its place among the top 10 for the second year in a row.
Weatherhead’s
MBA programs include the full-time traditional track and
the full-time accelerated track for undergrad business
majors.
The four semester MBA curriculum combines
a balance of integrated learning through
the core curriculum and customization through
the concentrations and special international project
courses. The
accelerated 11-month curriculum for undergraduate
business majors with work experience delivers
a condensed refresher core curriculum while allowing students to take
advantage of all the elective options and other projects available in
the two-year program.
The department of organizational
behavior at Case is internationally recognized
as a leader in the field of organizational analysis and development.
As a pioneer, the department played a major role
in defining the nascent interdiscipline by creating the field’s first doctoral program, awarding the first
Ph.D. of its kind in 1964. Currently the department has the nation’s
largest doctoral program in organizational behavior
with alumni and students from all around the world.
The
latest high ranking in the Financial Times also
augments a growing list of honors for Weatherhead’s entrepreneurship
program, established in 1984. Last year Entrepreneur magazine
ranked Weatherhead one of the top 50 national
entrepreneurial colleges and universities in
the United States.
“This encourages us to become an even better school and continues
to add to the outstanding reputation of Northeastern Ohio and Cleveland,
in particular, as a great place to do business,” Roomkin said.
