For immediate release: February 16, 2004
Case Western Reserve University has 20 alumni currently serving in the Peace Corps—11 more than last year-making Case the 16th in the nation among schools with enrollments of 5,000 or fewer undergraduates, according to the Peace Corps.
More college graduates are deciding to join the Peace Corps, the agency said, and that trend is reflected in the Peace Corps' 2004 list of "Top Producing Colleges and Universities." This year, institutions that topped the list had, on average, 15 percent more of their alumni become volunteers than in the previous year. Case's number of alumni volunteers increased by more than 50 percent.
In striving to be the most powerful learning environment in the world, Case seeks to have transformational impact on all who teach, learn, discover and work here so they are prepared and engaged to serve humanity.
