Congressman Charles B. Rangel of New York to speak at Louis Stokes Leadership Symposium on November 30

U.S. Congressman Charles B. Rangel U.S. Rep. Charles B. Rangel will be the guest speaker for Case Western Reserve University’s third annual Louis Stokes Leadership Symposium on Tuesday, November 30, at 5 p.m. at Case’s Thwing Center Ballroom, 11111 Euclid Ave. His talk will focus on the theme of “The Election is Over…Now What?”

Rangel, who represents the 15th congressional district of New York, has compiled a stellar record of accomplishments on behalf of his constituents, the nation and the international community. He is a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus, and currently serves as the senior Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee, one of the most powerful committees in Congress. He has risen to the pinnacle of influence in Congress as a member of the House leadership and Dean of the New York State Congressional delegation.

The Louis Stokes Leadership Symposium, named in honor of the retired congressman, covers themes of social issues and the community. Congressman Stokes represented his Ohio District, the constituents and their concerns to the national government in the U.S. House of Representatives for 30 years, and the university sponsors the symposium to recognize his contributions and to encourage students to make a difference in their community. He is currently a Visiting Senior Scholar in the Practice of Social Policy and Community Revitalization at Case’s Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
