Author on Shakespeare, dogs and more to lecture at Case

Case Western Reserve University’s Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities invites the public to a free and open talk on “Patronizing the Arts” by Marjorie Garber, the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of English and director of the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutions at Harvard University. The event begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, November 4, in the Thwing Ballroom, 11111 Euclid Avenue on the Case campus.
Garber, who is an avid supporter of the visual arts and visual culture, has spoken and lecture widely around the world including lectures at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Chicago Architectural Foundation and colleges in the United States, England, Germany and Italy.
She is the author of three books on Shakespeare, Dog Love (her 1996 book on dogs and human nature), Academic Instincts (a book about structuring debates in academia) and her most recent Shakespeare After All (2004).
