The School of Graduate Studies is
the
unit of Case Western Reserve University through which graduate programs in

its founding in 1843, the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine
has been at the forefront of medical education and research.
Already a leading educational institution for more than a century, in 1952
the School of Medicine initiated the most advanced medical curriculum in the
country, integrating the basic and clinical sciences, focusing on organ systems
and featuring an introduction to patients
in the first year.
The

Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing has been ranked consistently as a Top

(Bachelors degree), M.S.N. (masters degree), N.D. (doctorate in nursing),
or Ph.D. in nursing.
The
Nursing Doctorate program is open to anyone with a bachelors degree.
After two academic years, the student can take a state examination to become
a registered nurse, and work while finishing his/her doctorate.

the Mandel School offersan innovative combination of extensive field education
with theenduring traditions and prestige of a major university.
The Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences provides and integrates professional
social work education, research, and service to promote social justice and
empowerment in communities through social work practice locally, nationally,
and internationally.

The Office of Undergraduate Studies is responsible for the oversight of the
academic advising, activities, progress, and performance of undergraduate
students in Case Western Reserve University.
Case
Western Reserve University confers baccalaureate degrees based on programs
offered by the faculties of the Case School of Engineering, the College of
Arts and Sciences, the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, the School
of Medicine, and the Weatherhead School of Management. In addition, the University
offers several baccalaureate programs jointly with the Cleveland Institute
of Art, and the Cleveland Institute of Music.

The Cleveland Institute of Art was established in 1882. Over the years it
has earned a reputation for being among the top ten professional colleges
of art and design in the country.

College of Arts and Sciences houses departments and interdisciplinary programs
in the areas of the humanities, fine and performing arts, social sciences,
natural sciences, and mathematical sciences..
The

programs provide each student with a liberal education, the cornerstones of
which are general education courses and advanced study in one or more major

Program

A
joint program with Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development
New
at CWRU for Summer 2003 is the Pre-College Program called 'Equinox for academically
talented 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.
A joint program with Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development
(CTD), which has been offering summer programs for gifted students for 20 years,
Equinox provides students with an invigorating mix of challenging course work,
social and cultural activities.

enrolls 9,530 students from all 50 states and 95 nations. CWRU is recognized
for many of its outstanding programs and has acquired an international reputation
for excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
Through
the College of Arts and Sciences; Case School of Engineering; School of Graduate
Studies; and professional schools in applied social sciences, dentistry, law,
management, medicine and nursing, CWRU offers degrees in more than 60 fields.
Around
70 percent of current freshmen ranked in the top 10 percent of their high
school graduating classes, and around 90 percent were in the top 20 percent.

This year we are inaugurating a new six-week session that will provide learning
opportunities for those students whose calendars may not permit them to
enroll in the eight week session. Dates for the eight week session are June

CWRU welcomes visiting students from other colleges and universities, recent
high school graduates, and adults seeking enrichment to join CWRU students
in the Summer Session. Our credits transfer easily to other colleges and
universities. . We offer a full range of introductory courses in the humanities,
social sciences, math, science, engineering, and management. Best of all,
our summer tuition is half that of the academic year.

MINI
MED
SCHOOL
Learn
how your body works and how new medical breakthroughs may affect you in the
Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine's Mini Med School.
No math or science background is necessary. Lectures are in plain English
and there are no exams! All sessions are led by faculty experts from the CWRU
medical school.
Mini Med School sessions are held each year during the fall and spring sessions.
Spaces are limited.
