Yael Hegerfeldt
Yael Hegerfeldt, MD, is a fellow in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at University Hospitals of Cleveland / Case Western Reserve University, and joined the Laughlin lab in July 2006.
She graduated from medical school University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany in 2001. During medical school she worked on melanoma cell migration with Dr. Peter Friedl in the cell migration laboratory, University of Wuerzburg. Upon completion of an Internal Medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, she began her fellowship in heme/onc at Case in 2005.
In the lab she joined Margie and Mathew on the leukemogenesis project looking at regulation of transcription factors in T-cell ALL. She is also involved in clinical research involving outcomes of umbilical cord blood transplantation for patients with hematologic malignancies."
