RESIDENCY—Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Maryellen Davis, MD
Director, Child & Adolescent Fellowship Program
Department of Psychiatry

This two-year fellowship program is dedicated to training motivated residents who will apply their enthusiasm and initiative to learning normal child development, to acquiring knowledge of psychopathology of children and adolescents, and to mastery of evidence-based treatment modalities for disorders occurring in children and adolescents.

Department and Faculty

The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is vigorous! In May, 2004, this fellowship received re-accreditation for a full 5 years. The total number of fellows has increased from 6 to 8 (4 fellows per year). The Division has also been awarded a large grant to provide for additional faculty members and to open a new, 12-bed inpatient unit. At this time, there are 7 child psychiatrists, 1 behavioral pediatrician, and 6 child psychologists, with the possibility of adding 4 additional child psychiatrists or psychologists in July, 2006. The teaching provided by our experienced faculty, both full-time and at training sites outside of the hospital, integrates their accumulated knowledge with the educational needs of our fellows. The Division also benefits from a large research team that is responsible for running research protocols.

How to Apply

Applications for fellowship are made by residents who have completed their third year of general psychiatry training. Contact:
