FELLOWSHIPS—Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship

Main Info | Clinical Rotations | Didactic Program | Goals & Objectives | Clinical Division of Psychiatry and Medicine

This one-year, PGY-5 fellowship provides comprehensive training in psychosomatic medicine through supervised clinical experience on the inpatient consultation service, in the emergency department, and in a variety of outpatient medical/surgical liaison clinics. As the primary affiliate of Case School of Medicine, University Hospitals provides a rich academic and educational environment. Fellows participate in core outpatient clinics in the Transplant Institute, the renowned Ireland Cancer Center, women’s health in the MacDonald Women’s Hospital and in a general psychosomatic medicine clinic. Our newly-formed Neurological Institute offers the opportunity to participate with a team of neurosurgeons, psychiatrists and neurologists in nine specialty centers, including brain tumor, stroke, movement disorders, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders and memory. Research or an academic project with a faculty mentor is an expected component of fellowship training, and a variety of potential projects is available through our subspecialty liaisons. A structured didactic program specifically for psychosomatic fellows and weekly C/L journal club and case conferences round out the educational experience and prepare trainees for the Psychosomatic Medicine board exam.

How to Apply

Applications for fellowship are made by residents who have completed their third year of general psychiatry training.
