Current Projects in Forensic Psychiatry
Susan Hatters Friedman, MD, Debra Hrouda,
LISW, Phillip J. Resnick, MD, Stephen Noffsinger, MD, and
Carol Holden, PhD (all at Case Western Reserve University
except Dr. Holden) are studying child murder by parents
in order to identify clustering of factors which could be
of use to mental health professionals in filicide (CMBP)
prevention. Research includes coroner's data and data from
Michigan and Ohio forensic patients. Preliminary results
were presented at the World Congress for Women's Mental
Health and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
Susan Hatters Friedman, MD, Renee Sorrentino,
MD, Joy Stankowski, MD and Phillip Resnick, MD (all at Case
Western Reserve University except Dr. Sorrentino) are surveying
psychiatrists regarding inquiries about motherhood and thoughts
of filicide. |
