Our program combines coursework with practical supervised practice and is approved by the Association of Graduate Programs in Public Health Nutrition. The program is accredited as a dietetic internship by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association, 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, (312) 899-0040 X5400.
- The mission of this program is to serve as an integral component of the Department of Nutrition's commitment to prepare entry-level dietitians, with a focus on public health/community nutrition. The program has 2 goals that reflect its mission: (i) train dietetic interns to practice as registered dietitians (RD) in public health/community nutrition and, (ii) equip graduates to command leadership and service positions in public health/community nutrition and the profession in general.
- After completion of the program requirements, you will have earned a Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition and be eligible to take the national credentialing examination to become a Registered Dietitian (R. D.). Since the program began, we have awarded degrees to 430 students.
