The Nutrition Training Program at Case Western Reserve University School of
Medicine is inter-disciplinary in all aspects of metabolic processes. Graduate
students in the PhD program benefit from this learning approach. Our department recognizes that training and research
in nutrition must cover a far-reaching spectrum of interests and topics. In addition, the Department of Nutrition also offers programs that span
from human nutrition and dietetics to basic nutritional
sciences.
Because the science
of nutrition has changed since its inception, modern
nutritional biochemistry can now help examine the
outcome of nutrients in various organ systems. In
turn, current research is applied on creating artificial nutrients which
will assist in the treatment of nutritional as well as metabolic diseases.
Our
teaching and research faculty investigate a broad spectrum of nutrition and/or metabolic
science issues as you will note throughout this site.
