BACKGROUND

Dr. Lerner served as Vice-Chair of the Department of Nutrition until the end of 2012.  While in the department, she also taught courses in advanced nutrition and maternal and child nutrition. In addition, she was the primary instructor in nutrition for the medical students. In 2006, Dr. Lerner was the recipient of the "Diekhoff Award for Excellence in Graduate School Teaching".

Until her retirement, Dr. Lerner served on the Board of Trustees for University Hospitals Case Medical Center Health Systems, the Board of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the American Heart Association, and many other Boards and advisory committees.
