Created in 1965, the Coordinated Dietetic Internship/Master's Degree program (CDI/MDP) was the first such program in the country formed from the collaborative efforts of a private university and independent medical facilities.
Graduate course work is offered in conjunction with supervised practice experience at two separately accredited dietetic internship programs where students master the core competencies of dietetic practice. Eleven (11) months of supervised practice experience are integrated at the participating hospitals with 27 semester hours of graduate work over three academic semesters at CWRU, leading to a Master of Science in Nutrition.
This program coordinates with accredited internships at Louis Stokes Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University Hospitals Case Medical Center which offer to all students a concentration in Research Processes and Applications.
Both programs participate in the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application Services (DICAS)
Students are eligible to take the Registration Examination for dietitians upon completion of either 11-month dietetic internship program.
