OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
Housing arrangements are the responsibility of the student. Off-campus housing may range between $4000-$6000 per year. Campus housing is approximately $3845 per year. Both off-campus and campus housing information can be obtained through the CASE Housing and Residence Life Office by calling (216) 368-3780 or through local advertisements. Assistance with locating housing is also available from the adjoining communities of Shaker Heights (800) 786-5789 and Cleveland Heights (216) 291-5784.
Transportation is mandatory for traveling to work, classes, and off-site experiences. While working at the hospital, the intern will have the option to purchase a parking pass for the adjacent garage for a monthly fee of $45.00.
A computer with a modem is extremely useful for school and work related projects. However, this is not a requirement because students will have access to many hardware and software resources through University Hospitals Case Medical Center and CWRU.
A pocket calculator is required for clinical rotations.
Interns can make additional financial arrangements aside from the monthly stipend to meet expenses. The Office for Financial Aid can be contacted at (216) 368-4530.
Interns are not typically scheduled to work Saturdays and Sundays.
Interns also receive six holidays off and up to five (5) personal days.
