Background
In addition to teaching the
courses "Introduction
to Nutrition" (NTRN 201) and "Child
Development and Health" (NTRN 328), Jane Korsberg assists
with the courses Seminar in Dietetics I and II (NTRN
516 and 517) and the Dietetic Internship/Master's Degree
planning committee. She
also is a Nutrition Consultant in private practice providing
services to individuals and groups.
She received her B.S. in Foods & Nutrition from the
S.U.N.Y at Plattsburgh, a M.S. in Nutrition from CWRU
and was honored early in her career with the ADA's
Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award. Professor Korsberg's
specific areas of expertise include
weight management, diabetes, wellness promotion/disease
prevention and control. She has additional training
in behavior modification, reality therapy, and The
Shapedown Program (an advanced clinical education program
for child & adolescent
obesity) from the University of California, San Francisco.
Jane
Korsberg has also held other positions including that
of Director of a Dietetic Internship at Hurley
Medical Center in Flint (Michigan), Visiting Assistant
Professor at the University of Akron's CUP Program,
Assistant Director of a Hospital Nutrition Department,
Chief Clinical Dietitian, Clinical Dietitian, and Adult Education
Instructor.
In addition, Jane was on the Advisory Board for
the University of Michigan's Dietetic Internship Program. She
now provides nutritional expertise to the online
health site Netwellnesss
and was elected President
of the Cleveland Dietetic Association for 2005-2006.
