COORDINATED DIETETIC INTERNSHIP / MASTER's DEGREE PROGRAM

          Program Overview
  • The Coordinated Dietetic Internship/Master's Degree program (CDI/MDP), established in 1965, was the first program in the country formed from the collaborative efforts of a private university and independent medical facilities.

Graduate course work is offered in conjunction with supervised practice experience at 2 separately accredited dietetic internship programs where students master the core competencies of dietetic practice.

Eleven months of supervised practice experience are integrated at the participating hospitals with 26 semester hours of graduate work over three academic semesters at CWRU, leading to a Master of Science in Nutrition.

This program coordinates with accredited internships at Louis Stokes Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University Hospitals Case Medical Center

  • The Dietetic Internship Program at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center offers all students specific emphasis in Nutrition Therapy, Community Nutrition and Foodservice Systems Management.

    The
University Hospitals Case Medical Center Dietetic Internship Program offers a general emphasis. Students are eligible to take the Registration Examination for dietitians upon completion of each 11-month dietetic internship program.  In accordance with 2008 Allegibility Requirements and Accreditation Standards (ERAS) our Dietetic Internship Programs are transitioning to offer a concentration in Research Processes and Applications.
