Research:
Our lab uses a transgenic mouse model system in which CNS neurons, alone, are permissive to measles virus infection. My work is focused on the immune response to these infected neurons.

Currently I am working to characterize the T cells that infiltrate the brain in hopes of moving one step closer to understanding how neurons are cleared of infection without cell death.

Future work will focus on differential T cell responses to the various cell types in the infected CNS (both neuronal and non-neuronal). I will also be looking at possible signals that cause the differential responses.
