Research Interest: Our laboratory studies molecular abnormalities in colon cancer including studies of colon cancer suppressor genes and oncogenes, studies of the functions of positive and negative regulatory growth factors, and studies of the role of genomic instability in inherited and sporadic colon cancers. One of the directions in our laboratory is, based on the previous DNA microarray experiments, to try to discover new genes involved in colon cancer. The project I am currently working on is identification, characterization and functional study of one gene from this group---Ugene.
