Research:
Our laboratory is focus on a membrane receptor CD36, which is implicated in thrombosis, inflammation, lipid metabolism, atherosclerosis and angiogenesis. I am studying its role in angiogenesis, which is accomplished by binding with an anti-angiogenic factor, Thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1), and thus inhibit angiogenesis. My currently studying has two parts: 1. The effect of extracellular phosphorylation of CD36 to TSP-1 binding. 2. The CD36 mediated regulation of VEGF signaling by TSP-1.
