Research:
My research focuses on the splicing profiles characterizing
and controlling the formation of cardiac cushions in early heart
development. Specifically, I am investigating MBNL1, a splicing
regulator, which is downregulated - and alternatively spliced itself -
during endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition in cushion formation. I
am interested in identifying the target genes of this protein, its
upstream regulators, and the specific effects of these regulatory
events in development.
