Dr. Salata is Professor and Executive Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. Dr. Salata's research interests include international studies in HIV infection and HIV infection in women, sexually transmitted diseases, hospital-associated infections, vaccine and non-vaccine strategies to treat and prevent HIV infection, infections in immunocompromised hosts, and the epidemiology of infectious diseases. He collaborates often with the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and other faculty members involved in HIV research. Dr. Salata earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University.
