Applying to the Program & RequirementsUniversity Hospitals Case Medical Center's Emergency Medicine Residency Program is a three-year categorical program. All applications are accepted through the Electronic Resident Application System (ERAS). We participate in the National Resident Match Program (NRMP). All applications are screened by the Program Director. We do not have minimum score requirements. Each applicant is evaluated based on several criteria: grades, especially in clinical rotations, grades and evaluations from emergency department rotations, other accomplishments, dean's letter, letters of recommendation - preferably Standard Letter of Recommendations (SLORS), personal statement, and commitment to emergency medicine. We notify candidates accepted for an interview via email. Interviews are held on Wednesday's beginning in October through early February. Applicants with prior post-graduate training are welcome to apply. Your relative rank for the Match is not determined until all candidates have been interviewed. You may continue to submit a SLOR from an Emergency Medicine rotation even after you have interviewed with us as long as we receive them 2 weeks before the rank list deadline.
