Mark Weidenbecher earned his medical degree in 2002.
He did a residency in otolaryngology at the University
of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany and developed a special
interest in the treatment of stenosis of the larynx and
the trachea. In 2006 he interrupted his residency and
joined the Dennis laboratory.
His research focus is on cartilage tissue engineering
investigating its efficacy for fabricating a biocompatible
neotrachea and generating cartilage grafts for laryngotracheal
reconstruction.
