Two way traffic

We are very interested in understanding the impact of mRNA decay on all aspects of mRNA metabolism. For example, the absolute amount of mRNA within a cell is a function of how much is made by transcription minus how fast the cytoplasmic pool of transcripts are destroyed. One interesting problem, therefore, is to determine if the destuction of a message somehow impacts mRNA genesis within the nucleus.
