Health Disparities are health differences we see in some groups that may be related to:
  • Racial/Ethnic Group
  • Socioeconomic Status
  • Age
  • Cognitive, Sensory, or Physical Disability
  • Geographic Location
  • Religion
  • Gender
  • Mental Health
  • Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity
  • Other characteristics historically linked to discrimination or exclusion

Many health concerns disproportionately affect certain populations. These health concerns include:

  • Cancer
  • Immunizations
  • Kidney Disease
  • Diabetes
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Infant Mortality
  • Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke
  • Asthma
  • Obesity
  • Tuberculosis (TB)
