Professor Deming and Jessie Ellner (a second year medical student) are working with the Hospice Unit at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center to provide medical student volunteers with an opportunity to deliver non-medical care to patients at the end of life.

Professor Deming was invited to give this talk as part of her work on the Fogarty-funded International Research Ethics Training Program, based at Case in the Department of Bioethics. - Dr. Goldenberg was appointed to the Expert Condition Review Committee for the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Heritable Conditions in Newborns and Children.
- Dr. Goldenberg was appointed to the Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues (ELSI) Working Group for the Alpha-1 Foundation.
- Dr. Goldenberg was awarded an NIH grant to study Parental Attitudes on the Collection and Research Use of Biological Samples from Newborns.
- Dr. Hyun served on an Institute of Medicine committee that was tasked with evaluating the performance of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). This IOM report is due to be released by the end of 2012.
- Dr. Hyun's book, Bioethics and the Future of Stem Cell Research, is in production with Cambridge University Press. It will be released in late May 2013.
- On November 28, 2012, Dr. Hyun will give a lecture on stem cell tourism at Harvard Law School.
