Bio

I am from Fairview Park, a suburb of Cleveland and attended St. Ignatius High School. I did my undergraduate work at Xavier University in Cincinnati where I was a member of the H.A.B. program, an honors degree program in Latin, ancient Greek and philosophy. I received my H.A.B. in 2006 along with a minor in natural sciences. I then attended Cleveland State University and entered the masters program in biology. There I studied the evolutionary history of the SerH surface-antigen gene of T. thermophila. I received my master’s degree in biology from Cleveland State in 2010 and entered the BSTP program at Case. I have chosen to do my doctoral work in Dr. Baker’s lab studying factors involved in the nonsense-mediated mRNA decay pathway.

2004 Inducted into Eta Sigma Phi – The national honorary collegiate society for students of Latin and Greek.
