STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES
Potential Capstones
With our vast network of adolescent programs in the Greater
Cleveland community, the Center for Adolescent Health is able to provide
assistance in linking students with exciting projects in the area. We also
assist students with individual research or program ideas an opportunity
to implement such ideas in appropriate agencies serving adolescents.
Additionally,
there often are opportunities within the Center itself for capstone experiences. We are presently addressing the scope of GIS mapping
along with our surveillance work. In this context, students could
build on our information with their own areas of interest.
Local Adolescent Data
The Center collects a vast diversity of information about the health and behavior of local adolescents. Much of this data is available to students, either as background information that may be relavent to programmatic projects, or as raw data available to students for original research and analysis. In addition, the Center provides research mentoring and technical assistance to students interested in using adolescent data for capstone projects or publishing.
Volunteer Opportunities
In addition to capstone projects, technical assistance with data analysis, and student jobs, the Center often has volunteer opportunities which can give students valuable experience and a chance to interact with local adolescents.
