EVALUATION TECH
Child and Family Health Services (CFHS) Grant
Since its inception in 1983, CFHS has been a network of local
consortia of health and social service agencies that develops
community public health programs and clinical services to meet
identified health needs of women, infants, children, adolescents,
and families in the State of Ohio. The Ohio General Assembly
and the Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant authorize
funds for CFHS consortia to be administered by the Ohio Department
of Health.
Locally, MetroHealth's Center for Community Health (MHCCH) receives
CFHS funds for Cuyahoga County to support three MetroHealth
departments as well as six outside agencies: two administrative
and four community. The Center for Adolescent Health is one
of the administrative subcontracting agencies, along with the
Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH). Our role is to facilitate
the program evaluation process and provide evaluation-focused
technical assistance to the three departments and four community
agencies funded through CFHS.
The CAH Evaluation Team consists of the Evaluation Coordinator
and the Data Coordinator .
This team offers the expertise and technical support necessary
for CFHS agencies to successfully carry out rigorous process
and impact evaluations. Toward this goal, the Team meets with
individual agencies monthly and on-site, provides evaluations,
and co-sponsors with CCBH and MHCCH one professional development
conference each year for subgrantees. Lastly, an annual summit
with each agency promotes the re-examination of programmatic
goals and objectives in light of evaluation results.
