2005 Annual Workshop Highlights

Highlights of the 2005 Annual Workshop:

• Over 200 attendees
• About half of the attendees were K-12 youth
• Keynote speaker Travis Wright, board member of the Points of Light Foundation
• 26 breakout sessions (including 6 roundtables and 15 with youth presenters)
• exhibitors

According to attendees, the most valuable part of the day was:

• The most valuable part was when our students regrouped at lunch and had a brainstorming session. After the first two sessions, we were on a roll with ideas. [student]
• Breakout sessions and the opportunity to network regarding service learning (especially towards academic standards content). [adult]
• The presentations in the breakout sessions were exceptional. [student]
• All valuable - love the presentations by students. [adult]
• The exhibit area was good. I got to meet lots of people and form good connections. [student]
• Networking with others involved in service learning [adult]
• The keynote speaker's speech - very inspiring and meaningful. [student]
• Breakout sessions - learning about service learning initiatives that are happening in the Greater Cleveland area [adult]
