STRATEGIC ALLIANCES PROJECT
The Strategic Alliance project, begun in 1997, was designed to explore the
development and establishment of strategic alliances in the nonprofit sector,
and to compare and contrast the nature of and formation of these alliances
between the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.
The project is directed by Dr. John A. Yankey, the Leonard W. Mayo Professor
Emeritus at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
The Strategic Alliance Project has:

Conducted a comprehensive literature review of strategic alliance
development in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

Carried out a national study of 75 nonprofit organizations' experiences
in establishing strategic alliances.

Provided current information to update and refine curricular offerings.

Conducted a nonprofit leadership roundtable focusing on the similarities
and differences between nonprofit and for-profit strategic alliances.

Developed and offered workshops on strategic alliances to professional
and lay nonprofit leadership in various cities throughout Ohio.

Developed in-depth case studies of selected strategic alliances.

Developed a strategic alliance workbook.
