MANDEL CENTER REGISTRATION - Spring 2010 Semester

Before you can register, you must:
  1. Have an active Case email account
This account is essential to the registration process because:

    • You will use your Case network ID (e.g. waj2) & password to log into the SIS sytem.
    • Any emails regarding wait lists (or other registration items), if necessary, will be sent to your Case email account.
  2. Have a clear balance (check your tuition account)
For instructions on how to check your account balance, visit Learning Resources: Student Information System Manuals and Guides.
Students on Tuition Reimbursement must submit a new letter for the Spring semester prior to the start of registration.

NOTE: To be eligible for federal loans, students must register for a minimum number of credit hours each semester as follows:

  • Full-Time Students - 12 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters or 3 in the Summer semester.
  • Part-Time Students - 5 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semesters or 3 in the Summer semester.

THE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Summary of Steps:

1. Choose Your Classes
2. Submit a Mandel Center Registration Form for Approval
3. Register via SIS
4. Registration Enrollment Date
5. Health Fee Waiver

  1. Choose Your Classes

If you have not already done so, you should plan to speak with Barbara Clemenson, the Mandel Center's academic advisor, with regard to your course plan.  You can schedule an appointment with Dr. Clemenson by contacting her at barbara.clemenson@case.edu or 216-368-5869.

  2. Submit Mandel Center Registration Form for Approval
    MNO, MNO/JD, MNO/MSSA, CNM, MSSA/CNM, and JD/CNM students
    • A Mandel Center Registration Form will be sent to you via email. Please fill out the registration form and return it to Wendy Jelinek via the instructions provided with the form. This form will be submitted for approval by Brenda Marshall.

      Please note:
you will need your 7 digit Student ID number to complete the form. Please see step 3 (below) for how to get this number.

Please Note: the Class NBR referred to on the Registration Form is the Class Number. Once you've done a search (using this web page) for a Mandel Center course (using the Course Subject "MAND"), you will find the four or five digit Class Number inside the parentheses in the "Section" portion of the Search for Classes page. You can also find the Class Number in parentheses next to each course name in the list of Mandel Center Spring 2010 Courses.
      • When you submit the form, you will be asked to select an e-mail client.
      • If you use Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora, select "Desktop Email Application." The form should be automatically sent to your Outbox.
      • For all others, including Case web mail, Thunderbird, Gmail, or Yahoo, you will need to save the PDF to your computer and then send it to me (wendy.jelinek@case.edu) as an attachment. Please use "Form Returned: Registration Form 2008.pdf" as the title of your email (for your spring form).
      • You will need Adobe Reader to use the registration form. You can download this version of the program from http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/.

  3. Register via SIS (Student Information System)

Please note: Once the Mandel Center has reviewed and approved your schedule form, Wendy Jelinek will send you an email directing you to register for your courses in SIS.

Log into SIS (www.case.edu/erp/sis) with your Case network ID and password.

Once you get into the system, if you have not already done so, you will need to agree to the confidentiality agreement by clicking on the check box. The Student Center will then appear and will show your name and Student ID number in the upper right hand corner.

For detailed instructions on how to enroll in classes in SIS, please visit http://www.case.edu/projects/erp/learning/grg/Enrolling_Classes_QRG.pdf.
You can also watch the instructional video for students (http://tv.case.edu/actions/tv2/tv?play=true&id=8480&filter=working).

  4. Registration Enrollment Date

The Enrollment Date is the first day you will be allowed to enroll in your courses. It is to your advantage to enroll in your courses as soon as you are permitted.

Students with earlier graduation dates are given registration priority. If you delay your registration, you will be forfeiting this time advantage and you may be competing for classes with those graduating later than you.

Enrollment Dates for Mandel Center students are:

    Spring 2010
    Dual Degree Students November 2nd
MNO's with graduation dates of 5/2010 or 8/2010 November 4th
MNO's with graduation dates of 1/2011 or 5/2011 November 6th
MNO's with graduation dates of 8/2011 or later November 9th
    CNM's November 9th

  5. Health Fee Waiver

In SIS, be sure to waive the Case health insurance if you already have other health insurance. Once you have enrolled in your course(s), a Health Insurance Waiver button should appear under your class schedule. Click the Waive button to waive your University Health Insurance coverage.

Please note that you will need to provide the following information about your own health insurance coverage after you click the Waive button.
    • Name of health insurance company
    • Name of the primary subscriber
    • Policy/medical ID number
    • Telephone number to your insurance company's customer service line
This information can be obtained from your health insurance card. Please see the Student Medical Plan website for additional information.

If you have any questions, please contact Wendy Jelinek at 216.368.8566 or wendy.jelinek@case.edu.
