PEER LEARNING FOR NONPROFIT EDS/CEOS

Leaders’ Links and Links for New Leaders were created by the Mandel Center to address the expressed learning and networking needs of nonprofit executives.

The Mandel Center creates small groups (5-7 people) of nonprofit executive directors, presidents and CEOs who participate in monthly discussion in a confidential setting facilitated by Mandel Center. Discussions are meant to help participants as they focus on pressing issues within their organizations and lives. Feedback and support from colleagues helps the discussant move his or her thinking to the next level.

Those who participate in the program often report that the sense of isolation experienced by leaders is greatly reduced through participation in Links and that organizational collaborations and personal friendships occurred as a result of connections made during the Links’ experience.

Leaders’ Links is for experienced leaders. Click here for more information on Leaders’ Links.

Links for New Leaders was created as a result of the large number of new EDs/CEOs leading local nonprofits. Click here for more information on Links for New Leaders.

"The Leaders’ Links Program provides me with a unique opportunity to meet monthly with a small group of nonprofit executives in a confidential setting to discuss issues and ideas and share best practices resulting in improved organizational effectiveness. My link is a safe haven where we support, encourage and challenge each other, resulting in long-lasting camaraderie, friendship and trust."

--Valerie F. McCormack, Executive Director, Shoes and Clothes for Kids

"I have only been involved in the non-profit world in Cleveland for two years. One of the resources I treasure most is the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations and being involved with Leaders' Links. My fellow Links' members are a continued source of inspiration and support."

--Ron Soeder, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland

"I highly recommend Leaders' Links to other Executive Directors. The Links' format allows us to focus in-depth on a topic and interact with mutual respect and confidentiality. We share strengths and help each other find our own answers to challenges we face."

--Karen Peterson, Executive Director, Art Therapy Studio
