Nonprofit Awards Luncheon Recognizes Outstanding Leadership and Innovation

At the 2008 Nonprofit Awards Luncheon held in September, the Mandel Center and its alumni association recognized outstanding leadership and innovation in the community with the Leadership in Nonprofit Management Award, received by Mitchell Kahan, Ph.D., Director and CEO of Akron Art Museum, and the Organization Innovation Award, received by Hattie Larlham.

Over 300 members of the local nonprofit community and beyond came out to Windows on the River to honor the winners of these prestigious awards. The keynote speaker at this year's luncheon was Jennifer Pryce, Director of Advocacy and Site Director for the Nonprofit Finance Fund, who discussed the importance of linking money to mission in today's ever-changing environment.

The Mandel Center would like to extend special thanks to the Supporter Sponsors for this year's luncheon: the Mandel Center Alumni Association, Mandel Foundation, Mario Morino, and Summa Foundation.
