“The success of our Conversations and Seminars Series last year has led to greater open enrollment offerings this year,” said Michele Murphy, director of professional development programs at the Center.  “We have a very exciting and enticing array of topics:  some that are back by popular demand, as well as some fresh ideas new to this season of professional development opportunities.”

In recognition of the Center’s 25th anniversary in 2009, the Mandel Center is offering special pricing for its seminars and conversations.  Fees for seminars remain at $95, while fees for conversations remain at $50.  A second person from the organization may attend either a seminar or conversation for an additional $25. Center-affiliated persons receive an additional 30% discount in fees.  This special discounted rate is a great way to expand learning opportunities for organizations.

“We want members of our nonprofit community to know that the Mandel Center is their home too,” said Murphy. “We believe special pricing will encourage and enable more nonprofit colleagues to participate in Center programs.”

The Center has received great feedback from session attendees about the benefits and knowledge they gain from experiencing a professional development program.

After attending Dr. Rob Fischer’s session on “Dashboard and Metrics” last spring, Colleen Cotter, Executive Director of Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, was successfully able to design a metric for use at her organization.

“Within a few weeks, senior management and staff, as well as the Board, had bought in to the use of the metric,” Cotter said.  “I had been to other similarly-titled workshops. However, this was the first one that quickly and easily provided me with the tools that I needed to make this work at Legal Aid.”
