Treu-Mart Fellowship Welcomes its 7th Cohort
The Treu-Mart Youth Development Fellowship Program continues to grow. Eighty-eight Fellows, sponsored by 52 agencies/agency sites, have participated in the first six cohorts of the Fellowship. In early March, an additional 16 individuals became Fellows in the seventh cohort. The number of individuals nominated to become Fellows has consistently increased since the inception of the program, with a significant growth for the newest cohort.
In addition to participating in the Fellowship, many Fellows have taken on supplementary responsibilities. Six Fellows are currently involved with the Cuyahoga County Youth Council, organizing the regional youth councils. Four Fellows are students in graduate programs at the Mandel Center.
Alumni program offerings for Fellows have included proposal writing (in partnership with the Foundation Center), advocacy (with Voices for Ohio’s Children as our partner) and substance abuse prevention (in collaboration with the Medical School at Case Western Reserve University).
Since completing the program, Fellows have been engaged in providing professional training to others, including youth professionals from Beit Shean, Israel and the Cuyahoga County Library.
