Faculty Highlights
David Crampton, assistant professor at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, was a panelist in a research roundtable as part of the 2006 National Convening on Youth Permanence conference held September 13-15 in Washington, D.C. He participated in the session, Families For Life: Addressing The Needs Of Older Children And Youth In Foster Care. The panelists were policy experts from the child welfare field, state and local agencies, the judicial and legal systems, academia and professional associations.
Steven Feldman, associate professor of management policy, has been honored with a 2006-2007 Fulbright Scholar Grant. He has received a distinguished lectureship to teach international business at Shanghai International Studies University in Shanghai, China.
Brian Gran, an assistant professor of sociology at the College of Arts and Sciences, with a secondary appointment in the law school, lectured on "Implementation and Monitoring Strategies of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child" on November 16 at the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bosch.
M.C. "Terry" Hokenstad, Ralph S. and Dorothy P. Schmitt Professor and Professor of International Health at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, received the 2006 International Rhoda G. Sarnat Award from the National Association of Social Workers. The award is given to an individual, group, or organization that has significantly advanced the public image of professional social work.
Mohan Reddy, Nancy and Joseph Keithley Professor of Technology Management and associate professor of marketing and policy studies, was appointed interim dean of the Weatherhead School of Management effective August 8, 2006.
Louis Stokes, Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and a senior counsel with the global law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, L.L.C., has been appointed to the National Science Board's Commission on 21st Century Education In Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
John Yankey, Leonard W. Mayo Professor Emeritus, co-edited a book with Richard Edwards entitled Effectively Managing Nonprofit Organizations, published by NASW Press.
