AROUND THE CENTER

Mandel Center Staff Says Farewell to Ann Lucas

Ann Lucas, Director of Professional Development Programs for the Mandel Center, has accepted a new position as Executive Director of the Nonprofit Resource Center in Sacramento, California. Ann and her husband Dave had made a decision to relocate to California and the Nonprofit Resource Center, a management support organization working with a wide range of nonprofits, was fortunate to be able to attract Ann to succeed its founding director.

The mission of the Nonprofit Resource Center is to enhance the resources and improve the management of nonprofit organizations, primarily within California's northern Central Valley and Sierra Nevada regions. The Center has been providing comprehensive services and support to nonprofit groups in Sacramento and 18 surrounding counties through informational resources, leadership development programs, workshops and consulting since 1989.

Ann has been an outstanding member of the Mandel Center staff since 1995. During this time, she has held a variety of progressively more responsible positions including most recently Director of Professional Development Programs. Ann has played major roles in Leaders' Links, the Mandel Center's Nonprofit Awards, Strategic Alliances, and other areas of professional development and community programs. Ann has contributed significantly to every major organizational project the Center has launched in recent years, including the database project, website development, alumni relations, and student services. We will miss her talents and skills and her commitment to the Center's mission.

"My work at the Center has meant a great deal to me both personally and professionally," Ann said. "I feel very fortunate to have worked with and learned from such a talented group of staff, alumni and community colleagues over the past 10 years. There is no doubt that my degree from and professional experiences at the Mandel Center are the key reasons I was able to secure my new position. While I will miss the daily contact with everyone, rest assured that as an alumna I will remain a loyal supporter of the Center and its work."

The Mandel Center staff would like to extend best wishes to Ann for much success and happiness in her new life.
