John Yankey Retires After Dedicating 32 Years to the Case Community
Professor John Yankey from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations retired at the end of this past academic year. John Yankey was the Leonard W. Mayo Professor of Family and Child Welfare and had been a member of the faculty of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences for 32 years and the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations since its establishment in 1984.
Dr. Yankey is a nationally recognized expert in the areas of strategic planning, fundraising, the legislative process and the development of strategic alliances among nonprofit organizations. He also served as Acting Dean of the Mandel School and Interim Executive Director of the Mandel Center. Among some of the Dr. Yankey's greatest accomplishments is the fact that he has been named three times to the Outstanding Teacher Award by students from the Mandel School and an additional three times by students from the Mandel Center.
An endowed scholarship is being established to honor Dr. Yankey and his many years of service to the Case community. The scholarship will be awarded to a Mandel School student in either the joint degree or certificate program with the Mandel Center.
