Mandel Center Hires Director of Treu-Mart Youth Development Fellowship Program

Pat Heilbron

Patricia "Pat" Heilbron joined the Mandel Center staff in October to assume the responsibilities as the Director of the Treu-Mart Youth Development Fellowship Program. The Fellowship program is a new initiative that has been jointly developed by the Treu-Mart Fund and the Mandel Center to enhance the leadership skills of youth development professionals working with middle school youth. Pat will have overall leadership and management for the program, and will work to launch the first Fellowship cohort in the coming months.

Pat has been involved in the education field for over 30 years. She has been a teacher, central office administrator and principal. She most recently served as the principal of Mercer Elementary School in Shaker Heights. Heilbron began her career working with middle school children and has experience with grades K-12, as well as with adults.

Pat has a great deal of experience designing and delivering programming aimed at increasing the skill level of adults who work with children. She also brings extensive experience collecting data and analyzing the success of programs and initiatives.

Pat is familiar with the nonprofit sector through her work in education as she successfully pursued partnerships with various community agencies/groups in order to obtain the resources needed to best meet the needs of children and their families. She has also worked in the sector as a volunteer, having served on a number of community boards, including nursery school, religious school and a school restructuring center.

Pat earned her BS in Education, with majors in mathematics and history/government, and her MA in Educational Administration at Kent State University, with a focus on middle school.
