Career Development Activities for Students

For more information about the following career development activities, please contact the Mandel Center at (216) 368-2275.

  • Learning Styles Inventory - New Students: David A. Kolb's Learning Style Inventory is a valuable tool that helps participants understand how they process information in a learning environment and how they deal with ideas and day-to-day situations. The Mandel Center encourages new students to participate in this test in order to become more in tune with their own learning style and to discover how individuals with different styles can work together.
  • Externships - New and Continuing Students: Externships are optional, yet extremely valuable, opportunities that enable students to gain professional experience, often by working on a special project, in a nonprofit setting. An externship is designed to last a minimum of one semester, during which the student works from 10-20 hours per week. For more information about the Mandel Center's externship program, please contact Rebecca Zirm, Director of Recruitment, at 216-368-6025 or rebecca.zirm@case.edu.
  • Mentor Program - New and Continuing Students: The Mentor Program is an optional experience that enables a student to be matched with a prominent nonprofit executive in the Cleveland area. This is an opportunity to discover the realities of the workplace, network with professionals who share similar interests, or work side by side with one's mentor. For more information about the Mandel Center's Mentor Program, please contact Ann Lucas, Director of Professional Development Programs, at 216-368-5214 or ann.lucas@case.edu.
