Steven Feldman Conducts Discussion on Nonprofit Leadership and Ethics

Steven Feldman

Twenty-five nonprofit practitioners joined Professor Steven P. Feldman on June 4, 2004 in Case's Dively Building for a lively discussion of ethics in nonprofit organizations. Case studies presenting real life issues in contemporary organizations were presented and the ensuing discussions were framed by ethical evaluation, definition and problem-solving.

Participants quickly found that there were many varying viewpoints and they ultimately came to their own conclusions about what is right, shaped by their own perspectives as leaders on the ultimate values that were at stake.

Steven P. Feldman is Professor of Management Policy at the Weatherhead School of Management. He is also a program faculty member of the Mandel Center and teaches the Ethics course and Trusteeship course in the Masters of Nonprofit Organizations program. He recently published Memory as a Moral Decision: The Role of Ethics in Organizational Culture.

Because of the success of this workshop, the Center is planning future discussions of this nature for 2004-2005. Please check the Mandel Center website for more information or contact Ann Lucas at 216.368.5214.
