Wanted: Applications to Business Plan Competition for Nonprofit Organizations
Nonprofit organizations seeking to start or expand profit-making business ventures may enter the Third National Business Plan Competition. The deadline for entry is July 16, 2004. Four grand-prize winners will each receive $100,000 and four semi-finalists will each receive $25,000, along with many hours of technical business planning assistance. Only organizations with U.S. headquarters that are tax-exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code may apply. Organizations may enter if they are in the planning stages of an earned-income business venture, or if the venture has been in operation for no more than two years as of July 16, 2004. The venture may be a nonprofit subsidiary, a for-profit subsidiary, or a program of the nonprofit organization. Full eligibility rules.
