MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends of the Mandel Center,

Susan Eagan

One of the main goals for the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations over the past two years has been to acquire new and more adequate space. We are very pleased and grateful to have received the generous gift of $6 million from the Mandel Family through the Mandel Supporting Foundations to fund a new building for the Center - a critical milestone in achieving our long-range vision.

Tripling the space that the Center currently inhabits, the new building will provide classrooms, common areas for students, conference rooms, and office space for administrative and academic purposes. It will also continue to serve as the home for the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council. A new building will enable us to better serve our students, alumni, and the nonprofit community.

The new building will be located on Bellflower Road near the intersection of Ford Drive, with construction expected to begin in March 2005 and completed by spring 2006. We also anticipate that this new, central location will provide us with the opportunity to form a stronger connection with our partnering schools and the Case community as a whole, as well as establish a distinctive presence for non-profit studies on campus. For more information about the new building, please consult the Plain Dealer, as well as the Case Website.

Additionally, the Mandel Center is very pleased to be expanding our involvement in the community through such activities as the Strategic Alliance Workshop, the Foundation Center Library Interview Series, and an additional Leaders' Link. More information about these programs can be found in this issue of Nonprofit E-Notes. The Center is also currently planning several new workshops, programs, and presentations featuring national speakers that will take place during this upcoming year. We look forward to sharing more information with you in the following issues of Nonprofit E-Notes.

Sincerely,

Susan Lajoie Eagan
